HP500N characteristics and applications

HP500N is a common polypropylene (PP) material grade mainly used for injection molding. Here is its main information:

1. Basic features

Type: Homopolymer PP

Melt flow rate (MFR): about 12-14 g/10min (230℃/2.16kg), good fluidity, suitable for injection molding.

Density: approximately 0.90 g/cm³.

Mechanical properties: tensile yield strength is about 34-35 MPa, flexural modulus is about 1480-1550 MPa, and has high rigidity and strength.

Heat resistance: Vicat softening point is about 153°C, heat distortion temperature (0.45MPa) is about 97-95°C, and can be used in certain high-temperature environments.

Safety: Complies with relevant standards for food contact materials (such as FDA, EU 10/2011, etc.), and can be used in food packaging, tableware and other fields.

2. Application areas

Home appliances: washing machine impeller, refrigerator drawer, air conditioner casing, small household appliance casing, etc.

Daily necessities: storage boxes, trash cans, tool boxes, hangers, tableware, etc.

Packaging: thin-walled food containers, plastic cups, fast food boxes, bottle caps, turnover boxes, etc.

Industry: office supplies, display racks, electronic component casings, non-critical components of automotive interiors, etc.

3. Precautions for processing

Injection molding process: The barrel temperature is generally controlled at 190-230°C, the mold temperature is 30-50°C, and the injection pressure is 70-110MPa.

Drying treatment: generally no drying is required. It can be dried at 80°C for 2-3 hours in a humid environment.

Avoid high temperatures: Avoid prolonged exposure to high temperatures above 260°C to prevent material degradation.

4. HP500N from different manufacturers

There may be slight differences in performance between HP500Ns produced by different manufacturers, but the overall characteristics are similar.
